    Good quality VGA cable wanted

    I'm after a good quality VGA cable because the one I'm using ATM is giving me a lot of ghosting on my display - any you could recommend?
    Thanks

    How long? I've just moved my HTPC onto DVI so I have a rather monster (it had to run up to a wall mounted TV...) but very high quality VGA cable kicking around spare-ish...

    Hmm, mine's... erm... might be as much as 5m, not really sure. Want me to check and post specs and a pic of it? Since I'm not actually using it any more I'd be happy to pass it on pretty cheap.

    Err 5m is a bit long really - want to keep it short to avoid more tangled cables really but yeah post specs if you can.

    Yeah, as I thought it is a 5m cable (I had to run it round a corner and up 5ft to the wall mounted screen!). Made by Profigold: http://www.profigold.com - it has gold plated connectors (Woooo!) and 99.96% oxygen-free copper. The cable's fatter than you normally get on VGA leads, but I don't know if that's because it's got more copper or more insulation I'm afraid that's all the specs I can get though - the company's website doesn't have any information and I've long since have binned the box (given I've had the cable for about 4 years)

    It's not going anywhere anyway, so there's no rush for an answer, and I completely understand about not wanting too much cable cluttering the place up (that's one of the reasons I've switched to DVI, tbh)...

    How much would you want for it? I'll have a look round the net first though to see if I can find a shorter one.

    vga on high res does cause ghosting, try a DVi instead.

    Can't mate monitor is VGA only unfortunately. Besides, it happens even at 1024x768.

    Not with a good quality VGA cable it doesn't.

    2048 * 1152 over D-Dub here with no ghosting

    When you need it for Watercooled? I'll have a dig in my bag of goodies and see if I have a spare.

    I'd probably want about £7 - £8 depending on postage charges - I'll weight it, get a quote and give you a firmer answer later this weekend

    EDIT: OK, having checked post costs I can do it for £7 delivered (2nd class).

    Yup, no problem. I wasn't actively planning to sell it so just PM me if you decide you want it

    Nah that's just because the camera was very close, couldn't get it to focus properly - look to the right of the digits/icons.

    @scaryjim: Thanks m8
