    Wanted: HD4870!

    Hope you can help folks!

I'm after an HD4870, post what you have and how much you want for it delivered!

    Thanks!

Edit: Will now also consider HD4850's!

Would love on-board HDMI but a HDMI-DVI dongle will suffice, this'll go into a HTPC!

These are pretty hard to find new/second hand now sadly, when they were just reaching an excellent £ : performance ratio - its been a struggle getting hold of a 4850 regardless of brand for my mate.

And if its for a HTPC would a 4770 not be better ? Lower noise & power

IGN doesn't normally update on the weekend, but this is Halo so normal rules don't apply

I'm pretty sure the performance level's aren't the same and aren't the HD4770 pretty power hungry too!

I have a Sapphire Vapor X TOXIC that I'd consider selling for the right dough, as I fancy a 5770.

It's a 512mb card, and is pre overclocked to 1000 Mhz Ram (so 4000 effectively, vs default and larger ram versions at 900/3600) and 780 Core (against others at 750 to 770), and goes a tad higher if you fancy

It's a lot quieter than a default one, the cooler is very effective.

I'd want £107 delivered for it, unless you live in Bucks in which case I can deliver for Free and it's £100.

Any warranty? Modified, I doubt it but have to ask? Full working order?

I'm not looking to spend more than £70 inc. as there's a Palit one with almost the exact specs if not the same at around £100 from Novatech with Native HDMI & Displayport, I thinks it's a Palit one?

At that price I'd rather just get the HD4870 or the HD5770 brand new (bit more), sorry. Thanks for the offer.

And you just summed up the issue nicely.

At this point in time the cost of the high end 4series has hit rock bottom, as places get rid of old stock, Zak33 probably paid around £170 for that card new.
On top of that the performance is still very good, so there's far less insentive for people to sell off their old card.

I know, that's what I was thinking too, looks like I'll stick in a HD2600XT in the HTPC for a short while unless I can find my HD3850.

That's why I addressed the Palit HD4870 Sonic edition, looks like a quiet GPU! I like quiet too! It has to be if going into a HTPC! Otherwise the HD4870 start at around £90!
