but the fan noise on the thing must be loud. have you modded that? or is it the default fan

can you tell me the price anyway, I might look into replacing the fan if the price was worth it to me.

    Re: Power Supply 600w+

It's not loud no, (stock fan) at least from what I recall.

It's not as quiet as my nice new be quiet E9 but that's to be expected considering the new PSU would be £100!

I have no idea on what it'd sell for, make me an offer (considering weight)

    Re: Power Supply 600w+

I am a bit wary of the noise, as the PSU is the loudest thing in my PC, and I have thermaltake ToughPower thats all

    quoting jonnyguru review

"it got loud. I have never heard a 135mm fan get that loud. It drowned out the SunMoon - I'm not kidding, here. The interesting thing was, the unit wasn't that hot. Take a look at the temperatures - in test five it hit a mere 34 degrees exhaust. I wonder where the thermistor is, if there is one and it's not a load based fan controller."

if you would like me to make you an offer, please let me know how old is it,
    and the warranty situation.

Strange that your Thermaltake Toughpower is loud, mine is quiet.

    Re: Power Supply 600w+

Got an Antec Truepower trio 650W kicking around. Have to check what I was asking for it in my last for sale thread - about £45 £35 I think... iirc it's pretty damn quiet, but then my PC did have an Intel stock air cooler and a reference 8800GTX in it, so it may just have been quiet in comparison

EDIT: price corrected. Original FS thread: http://forums.hexus.net/classifieds-...y-pc-bits.html
