    Before you pull the trigger and have enough free time I would look at the power savings compared to a non e edition and decide whether the extra is worth it. I imagine the non e are cheaper. Many times the energy saving editions are just lower clocked. you have the ability to undervolt and underclock too and usually very easily.

    Difference in power is pretty much bang on 20W from my experience, but if your motherboard supports undervolting most Athlon IIs will run stably at low voltages anyway, so you could get a normal X2 and undervolt it for the same difference...
