    Shipping back a keyboard for RMA

    Hi,

    I've got a Corsair Vengeance K90 with dead LEDs, with more failing week on week, and I tried to arrange an RMA for it this week. Only to find that Corsair expect me to pay for shipping the keyboard to the Netherlands! There is also no "express service" option but from the sound of things I would still need to pay postage there so thats not a viable option either! It's too late to return to the retailer (amazon, this was purchased Jan 2014)

    So before I decide to boycott Corsair and refuse to buy any of your products again, is this a standard position for the company or have I just been unlucky? The vast majority of manufacturers i've dealt with over RMAs i the past don't charge me for return shipping if their item is faulty - after all why should the customer suffer due to poor quality goods?

    I understand the legal position - but expecting your customers to pay for return shipping kinda makes the warranty worthless, especially for larger/heavier items.

    Have you contacted Amazon CS online chat? There is a good chance they'll be flexible and aware of their obligations under consumer law. I believe they also do free returns, but possibly excluding really cheap < ~£10 items.

    Thanks for replying No i've not pursued Amazon yet but I will do shortly as I fully expect a "sorry but thats tough" response from Corsair, if anything

    Amazon tend to be excellent at returns although after 6 months it becomes trickier since the onus is switched to me to prove that it's a material defect rather than misuse etc.

    As an update - I had 20min so decided to speak to Amazon.

    Apparently there is a fault with this particular model and Amazon have actually stopped selling it as they had so many complaints about dead LEDs. So they have agreed to arrange a full refund for me..good news

    I am still unhappy with Corsair's policy so my replacement KB will be a different manufacturer, but all's well that end's well.

    Let us know which one you eventually choose. I might be on the lookout for one soon to replace my ancient original MS Natural KB.

    I've plumped for a Razor Blackwidow ultimate stealth in the end - will arrive saturday so we'll see how it goes Well respected model.
