Hi all, can anyone help with a 8600GTS graphics card problem

Hi everyone, has anybody else had a problem upgrading to a 8600GTS card. I've been unable to get it working on my pc, I've updated the drivers from Nvidia site, downloaded Microsoft hotfix for Vista (32 Bit), received replacement card from supplier, even upgraded power unit from 250W to 450W. Machine still crashes when I try to run a game or update computers base performance score. Dont Know what to try next.
ps. when i put 7300GS card back in machine works perfectly.
    Cheers

Powersupply would be my first port of call still, they are power hungry monsters. What brand of PSU did you get?

well i'm not saying that that's what it definately is, but Sumvision are a bit cheap & cheerful tbh. All your other components are of good quality, why skimp on a psu.
Having said that I've used dreaded Q-Tec jobbies & never had a prob.

Well like i said, it may be that, it may not, but trust me, it never hurts to have quality power.
Still, don't just take my word, by all means post your question in Hardware or Help as those that know far more than I frequent such places. Hexus is chock-a-block full of knowledge, tis just there for the asking
