    HELLO IM BUILDING A NEW COMPUTER AND TURN IT ON AND HAD THIS POP UP,

    CMOS CHECKSUM BAD
    USB DEVICE OVER CURRENT
    STATUS DETECTED
    SYSTEM WILL SHUT DOWN IN 15 SECS.
    IM A BIT LOST HERE?
    NEED SOME ADVICE HERE! WILL BE VERY GREAT FULL IF SOMEONE WOULD HELP ME HEAR AS ITS MY FIRST SELF BUILD.
    HAVE FOLLOWED ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS SO FAR BUT THEN THAT POPS UP ON THE SCREEN AND TURNS OFF/ IS THERE ANYWAY OF STOPPING THIS WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?

    was the capslock key broken too ?

    I'd try removing some of the USB devices you have attached.

    Clear the BIOS & try again. Failing that, clear the BIOS (if you're not sure how to it'll be in the motherboard manual) and unplug everything except the cpu, ram & graphics card & try booting again.

    it turns itself off in 15seconds how do i stop that to go into the bios?

    turn the power off (& remove power lead), remove the battery, check the manual on how to clear the bios, some have jumpers, some have a switch.

    looked every where in the manual and cant find it anywhere? really lost now? please try and help me mate?this manuals like a bible man is there any trouble shooting asus pages on the net.

    I'll have a flip thro the manual once it's downloaded & have a dig.

    Right, looky at page 2-21 of the manual & it shows the location of the jumper & what to do.

    hi, yeap tryed that with no luck it keeps bring up that message and then shutting off? not going to well for my first build is it/ im thankful for the help you have givin me so far and will be really happy if you can give or find out any more info on my problem apart from the fact that im thick as lol,, thanks mate.

    Any USB headers attached to the mobo for a USB port on the case? I had that problem before. Was an older mobo though.
