    Windows won't recognise my HDD

    I'm running a 2tb Seagate Barracuda SATA 6.0gbps on a EVGA FTW z77.

I've tried changing SATA cables and swapping ports around - NO LUCK!

And I have also tried changing the BIOS setting around from AHCI to IDE, still no luck.

The drive can be found in the Device Manager in Control Panel, but not in my computer.

If anyone could set me in the right direction I would be thankful.

Have you tried formatting the drive (assuming you have just added it)?

The drive was brand new so no need to format.

However, I managed to switch the ACHI mode and install windows on it.

But that means my SSD will not be recognised, so it's just reverse really.

If you install a new HD then often you have to format it (from within disk manager) so that windows will see it.
