Question SLI 512mb or Single card 512mb ?

    HI every1

i was hoping some1 would know what would be best to invest in, either:

1 X 512 mb graphics card , such as the 7900 gtx or x1900 xtx or

    2 X 256 mb cards i.e 2 X 7800gtx's in SLI.

i have no ideah wat so ever, as both these options cost around the same, give or take £50-£100. I will be always using the sytem for gaming and will be spending lots of dosh on the system!

:] all hellp would be appreciated!

If it were my money I'd buy the single card. The benefits of multi-GPU solutions seem patchy, and I'd rather have a single card good in all games rather than two which might be good or might not.

    Welcome to the forums.

I'd go for the single card too. You can always add another at a later date (motherboard permitting) if you feel it is worth it.

Besides unless your running a huge monitor you really don't need 7800's in SLI.

I'd get a single X1900XT-X and no sli

Multi-card setups don't reap what they sow (cost )

Wait for the 7900GTX to be released and then make your decision between the X1900XTX or the 7900GTX, I heard the 7900GTX won't take any performance crowns but still nvidias dont suffer from ATi's random stuttering issue...

The X1900XTX is currently the best there is out there - get it and you won't be let down.

I feel let down, soo many issues with it. It suffers bad shimmering and AA does not seem to work, rage3d forums are talking about it.
