They must have paid a tonne of cash to get an exclusive, for Nokia's sake I'd be hoping the limited take up on their flagship handset was worth it.

They just don't learn.
If Microsoft want to get into the market they need to make it as cheap as possible and easy to buy. Make a loss off the handset if they must and make it up from the apps store.....
Microsoft / Nokia are not Apple. They don't have the power to make exclusives like this right now. Not many people are going to hunt out this phone, they need to push it at everyone on every network.

The lack of the camera from the 808 made me lose any interest I might have had in the 920!
Probably because EE will be the first available LTE network in the UK. I have no idea how O2, Vodaphone or 3 are measuring up with their 4G/LTE networks. I know O2 was testing it at one point.
However as a phone and camera, this one really has my attention.
The camera is not the same 1/1.2" 41MP one found in the 808,but a 1/3" 8.7MP one. Most of the advantages of sensor found in the 808 are probably not there in the 920.
BTW,the network is basically the operating name of the company behind T-Mobile and Orange:

Yeah, the PureView is a term used by Nokia for the technology. However on another site they tested it in low light against the current crop of top end smartphones and it came out tops. I remember an interview with Elop that on the 808 they wanted to concentrate on the zooming problem (hence the huge MP) and on this 920 they wanted to solve the low light and camera shake issues.
Thing is, if EE have agreed to sell at least a certain amount, it could be a good agreement from Nokia's point of view.

I'm not too fussed by this. I'd like to think that it's not a daft move by nokia as they simply can't afford to be doing that now.
Also with regards to the 808 camera I read a bit back the it actually doesn't have a true 41 mega pixel sensor. I'm on my phone at the moment but I'll try find the article when I'm home.
I'm hoping to get a 920 if it has good reviews.
The 41MP data is actually not output at this size as the pictures can have a variable aspect ratio. It is what is done with it regarding the oversampling is what is interesting and it seems the 920 lacks this, let alone the useful zoom/crop modes. Even then the individual photodetector area, in the sensor found in the 808, is probably slightly larger than that in the sensor found in the 920 too.
It seems the major selling point is the stabilisation in the 920 camera, which means it can probably push slightly longer shutter speeds than the 808. The 808 lacks this but it is a better camera. A stabilised verison of the 808 camera would probably be much better overall.
Hence,I would rather wait for the replacement for the 920 as I suspect this is what we will see!

I hope Nokia can make a good push in marketing for their phone though. I for one want them to rise from the ashes. Hey, maybe even do a Batman edition again!
Pricing also needs to be a key factor. I wish they would undercut the iPhone enough to tempt people away and start getting a good user base.
I'm seriously tempted to get this phone upon launch
In my mind it's got a lot of things going for it:
I like the idea of decent camera with optical stabilisation
Been waiting for wireless charging for an age
Slick looking interface
Nice design
But... I'm not sure I could make the jump from Android.
I use Google Maps/Navigator a lot! and am very happy with it (That said I read good things about Nokia drive)
Might give it a go under the 14 day cool off period
Depending on how long T-Mobile have 4G lead over rivals and those in the know are looking to have an iPhone5 from T-Mobile because of that, what it does is put it next to the Iphone. Can't afford an Iphone? What about Lumia 820/920? Iphone5 will be going from 35pm. Lumia needs to be in at 25 pm to shift in real numbers. It is up against S3, One X.
Impressive low light conditions shown in Engadget article
Very tempted to get one on launch myself too! Really like the wireless charging like they used to have in the Palms. Not as efficient but so convenient.
