Windows Phone 8 gains market share + 4oD now available

    An article from engadget here:

    http://www.engadget.com/2013/09/30/w...-share-europe/

How long before Windows Phone over takes iPhone I wonder? Plus, in the UK at least, 4 on Demand (4oD) is now available for Windows Phone 8 (WP7+ not supported sadly). Considering Windows Phone the market share increase I would have thought Barclays would have had an app out by now.. maybe its in the works somewhere.

An interesting article here about the gains in market share for WP from BBC:

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-25031051

Roughly 1 in 10 smartphones are now Windows Phone 7/8 in Europe.

That's quite a lot, more than I thought anyway. In terms of actual devices being used, iPhone must be right up there. I use android and so do a lot of people but I still see so many people use iPhone.

Re: Windows Phone 8 gains market share + 4oD now available

They've way overtaken Blackberry's marketshare in the UK at least now. In fact on many polls asking "what OS will your next phone have?", it's only competition is Android. Yep, it's above iOS.

I'm actually very surprised. Don't get me wrong, I've supported Windows Phone since the beginning (literally. Pre-Nodo days. First release of the OS and everything) but I never expected it to gather so much momentum so quickly. It's a Microsoft product, and let's face it, the general public isn't very receptive to them. They'd rather be robbed in broad daylight by Apple
