I want to customize the Windows 7 UI. Know a trusted site?

I've seen some cool looking customizations for windows 7 in random videos and screenshots about the internet. Just wondering if anyone knows of a safe website for getting these customizations? I can find some stuff by searching, but I really don't know what the hell I'm installing on my computer from these random sites...

IMHO Rainmeter is the way to go.

In addition to rain meter, you could get a mac OS like dock - called rocket dock. Custom icons look cool too

Rainmeter and RocketDock are good. Try checking out Stardock, they have a number of different programs for customising different aspects: http://www.stardock.com/products/?from=nav

I use stardock fences. Mainly just to hide desktop icons and then have them reappear with a double click

Thanks guys! Since posting this thread I already discovered rainmeter which I have been using a bit. I am also using a dock called Nexus, by Winstep, which seems to be alright! I had a look on that Stardock website before but got confused when navigating it. I didn't quite get what all the different programs did too. Plus I was looking for something that was free and I'm fairly sure their stuff wasn't I haven't heard of RocketDock before though so will have a look at that now! Thanks

The latest version of fences isn't free... But the version before it was, and you can still down load that from somewhere like CNET.
