About LinkBacksThe info I have is that the OPs original problem is down to the lack of CMPXCHG16b. However, this is problem is limited to only 64bit versions of Win8.1. 32bit version is fine.

Yep. As mentioned above. Most (if not all) programs are available for 32bit as well as 64.
