well, at a trade show and run out of things to do so i thaught id have a bash at getting this up and going.

Missed out forza 3 becuase the multiplayer was a pile of arse, but with 4 forza2 style custom open and invite rooms are back!!!!!1 so we should get some races going. only Dave87 that i have seen on my friendslist still around from here, and havent seen him on forza4 yet.

Is this worth getting an X360 for? I asked the same question of GT5 and while some people said 'yes', I tried it and it was a firm 'no'.

Solely for this game, I'm not too sure (I do massively enjoy the game, however) given the consoles replacement will no doubt be revealed in June.

I was going to pick up a Mad Catz steering wheel in town before but overcome the urge - i do want to try it with a "proper" wheel though, just not sure if i can justify the price to myself for a cross console and Pc compatible model.

O/T: I don't currently have Gold but it irks me i can't take Big Shots without a Gold account :@

The easy answer to this is "it depends".

I've personally always found Gran Turismo a bit, well, boring - looks good enough and plays well too, but leaves me feeling "meh".

However, Forza has been a joy since I first played the original way back when.

I don't quite know whether I'd buy a console based on one game though...

depends how much time you are going to put into it - i still stand by GT5 being worth the PS3 cost, its just a case of joining forums and getting involved with races. J.O.S.H organized a great SuperGT race series over on AVForums, almost worth it to have been able to participate in that alone.

But if it didn't work out for you with GT i don't really see it working out much better here tbh kalniel.

ps. it usually looks a lot better than that, especially in photo mode but someone has gone out of their way to make an awful pic.

im quite liking it still, the niggling "you are driving around a set of numbers" hasnt gone away thanks to the car rating still being present and correct. same feeling i used to get with champ man - you haven't bought a player, you have bought a set of statistics. some things are better hidden and worked out for yourself, GT does this, forza is really going for a market that likes to knock down bowling pins in a car thankfully despite this it still gets me going for 10 mins with every closely fought online race

more bad stuff though, bugged car tunes have been turning up over the last few days, mainly Yank tanks but not all, hopefully T10 sort them out but if we do get some races going I hope you all understand if certain cars configured certain ways may be frowned upon a bit and im not talking Forza2 Mugen Integras, I mean rockets that cant take corners but they are so fast in a straight line they don't need to.

still a bit of a faff getting to pics, with only being able to upload one at a time, and not being able to just copy to a USB stick or something - but an improvement. at least we can actually get nice big pics now.

i hate that track so bad. get sensible, good races in a room, then that bloody thing gets chosen and all of sudden RIIIIIIIIIIIIDGE RAAAAAAAACER!

Ditto. That track is an absolute nightmare.

I love it.

It does have a RR feel too it but i think that is mainly because you know nowhere with a track like that could exist, but the downhill sand twisty sections make it feel fun to race on.

I seem to enjoy the more 'unusual' tracks..maybe 'cos i'm rubbish at the game anyway..lol..great game so far.

I'm finding the rivals mode rather addictive. I'm in a club with about 35 active members, plus more on my friends list and we are constantly chipping away at each others times.

Even running the first Top Gear track in the starter car I set a time that was as fast as I thought I could go - a friend beats it, then chasing his ghost I get even faster and beat that. I'm now just inside the top 2%. Beating rivals is now about shaving hundredths of a second, and tiny tweaks to gearing or braking. I have noticed the prize money changed once it got over 100,000 entrants - you can now get 250,000 for beating anyone in the top 1.5% rather than the previous top prize of 150,000 still available in other rivals events.

Now if I just tweak that...
