    Funny letters appear...

    Hello,

When ever my wife starts up her computer a bunch of funny letters appear on the screen (a with a hyphen over the top) and the computer keeps rebooting itself.

I assume it's a hardware problem and I was hoping somebody might know which specific piece it is before I go fiddling around with it.

    Thanks

    Hello, thanks for your reply.

The funny letters appear at boot up

The screen keeps coming up asking if you want to boot up in safe mode, normal, last known working boot etc. (and it has all the funny letters, very hard to read )

Strange! It sounds like the windows might be corupted but I wouldnt expect it to be visible so early in the boot, do you have a spare hard drive to try a fresh install?
