Flashed to b14, so far it seems better at 333, also the fans don't max coming out of an s3 state. Still does not set my balistix 800 to run at SPD on auto, defaults to 5,5,5,18
Running Orthos at 333 default voltages except for Ram (balistix 800 2 gig kit) which is at 2.10 running 3:2 divider for 888mhz.
Well that didn't work out, screen froze so up goes the voltage, ram to 2.2, nb to 1.28 and cpu vtt to 1.24

Sorry but no comparison to b13 other than it did not seem as stable at 333 as b14 does.

More later, and oh it didn't kill my board.........

So I ran Orthos for a couple of hours last night and so far it's stable as a rock. Peaked at 55 degrees under the stock cooler and vdroop on the processor was .05 other voltages were right on.

Once I get the system imaged I'll push it more, since I corrupted my raid 0 array a couple of nights ago by pushing it to 400 fsb.

So both the proc and mobo are getting returned. I had one of my sticks of ballistix die while my PC was in a S3 state, came home today pc was saying bad bios checksom and after a bit of troubleshooting it was a dead stick of ram.

Unfortunately a lot of D9 has died even when run within recommended voltage (& I don't mean just on this mobo).

    Yeh,

I did alot of reading up on it after I ordered it. however it seems to be the IC of choice right now.

As for the proc and cpu, I hate having to wait for a stable bios so back this stuff goes and I'll be placing an order with Newegg for an AB9 QuadGT, 6420 and a kit of Patriot eXtreme memory.

Ain't that the truth, doesn't make a difference which company either. Corsair, Team Group and Crucial D9 has all died on me at some point.

so you all say that using D9 on mobos with 650i is not safe?

no, what we are saying is that whilst D9 is the bang for the buck module atm it also appears fragile (irrespective of chipset/mobo model).
I did read something the other day though about nF6xxi having a voltage surge problem (strangely enough on idle).

Beta 14 bios seems a no-go for me so far- my E4300 won't even POST at 2GHz. Will be going back to beta 13, I'm starting to suspect that I might have a seriously dud CPU

So, it seems that the 4xxx series chips with the lower fsb have issues booting when overclocked, I have read on several occasions where shorting 2 pads on the cpu will make it boot at a higher fsb by default and it can cure the problem your having.

Also for beta 14 did you clear your bios using the jumper after flashing?

I wonder what the PWM in Abit EQ stands for? Is it the power section of proc or is it the chipset temp?

Pulse Width Modulation - effectively the mosfets for the board's power circuitry (under the black hs to the left of the CPU socket & by the IO section)

thanks BUFF, and is there possibility to check temps of chipset without touching the hs? cause Everest 2.20 doesn't report that as well as Abit EQ.

One more thing: anyone tried to push their ram @ 1T? When I try to do that, i always get 2T when posting and on win. No matter what freq, what timings, always 2T. Annoying.

afaik the chipset doesn't include a temp sensor.
