But my brother rang Sales yesterday and inadvertently pressed the incorrect line to go through to on his phone and after explaining why he was callling the man at Scan was rather patronising and downright rude in my opinion said "Well obviously you've pressed the wrong button because obviously you should have selected the sales option"

I realise you keep winning awards for your service Scan but are your staff resting on their laurels a tad because you keep having these successes?

You can't make a first impression again and I'm kind of put off buying from Scan now. So it looks like I may have to start almost from scratch again somewhere else.

Have you still not had a response from SCAN regarding your quotation?

Hi Chris, thanks for the interest. No, not had a response from anyone at Scan. But don't be too disheartened Scan were the first of 4 PC builders that I emailed for quotes for a pc and not one has responded. Must be nice to ignore potential clients.

On the upside though I decided to build the pc myself and I've purchased the majority of components from yourselves. So all's well that ends well.xx

If you can confirm who you have contacted about this quotation to see why you have not received a response.

    Best Regards

Hey everyone, and MSIC especially, just thought I'd post some pics of the components I purchased.

Haven't got a pic of the completed build yet as I'm waiting for a new card reader. And I added two more hdd's to the two you'll see in the pic which gives me 4 hdd's and 1 ssd.

Some temps at idle and under Prime and an Atto benchmark for the SSD.

All in all I'm rather happy with my first try at spec'ing and building a pc.

The DPD guy who delivered the boxes was really gentle with them and really nice too.xx

Thanks for all the help and great delivery service and pricing from Scan.

Good on you - that's one seriously impressive piece of work for someone's first try at PC building.
You should be proud of yourself.

Does your other half know now? Has the gift been given?
I'm commenting on an internet forum. Your facts hold no sway over me.

Thanks MSIC, I'm quietly rather proud of myself.

I had to remount the H70 as well which included removing the T.I.M as I was getting temps in the high 40c's at idle and then it shot down to what you see in the pic. Yay!! I put it down to the heatsink not being mounted the same across the surface of the cpu (see pics below). Don't know if that's correct but I don't care as it all worked out. Go me!

I'm just now reading all I can about overclocking it as letting the system overclock itself just feels like cheating.

Nope, not given yet. He should be back this weekend hopefully, fingers and toes crossed.

Thanks for all your help MSIC. I won't forget it.xxxx
