....and know they seem to have restored a 2 year old backup
I know - I'm not even registered anymore!
Hmmm, neither am I. Tried to register "again" but the confirmation email hasn't got to me so can't post.
One presumes that the main copy of the forum will be restored come Monday, so everything will once again be peachy. Hopefully.
BH6, BX6 2.0, BE6, BE6-II 2.0, ST6-RAID, BE6-II 2.0 (again), BD7-RAID, BD7II-RAID, IC7-G, IC7 Max3, AB9 QuadGT, IX38 QuadGT. IX58... Oh, b*ll*cks. RIP Abit
I don't get any notifications for thread updates so I think that server that is running the back up (I think its a back up???) doesn't send out email.
Theres a few new threads in there and I don't get any notifications.
The wolves site and abit-usa site are completely different and ran by different people.
The abit offices got hit by a large surge that wreaked havoc for a few workstations and 3 servers, one of which was the forum server.
they are trying to recover the data from those 2 drives in that mirrored array.
Hopefully everything will be saved...
Poor BUFF lost 10,000 posts.

I wouldn't worry about it too much Joker. There's little "serious" discussion going on there at the moment - folk seem to be largely treading water in the expectation that when the "proper" forum gets restored, anything said on the "backup" may disappear anyway.
I daresay that if it proves impossible to rescue the "current" forum, the staff will move the backup copy over to prime position - and at that point they'll enable the mail output.

Looks like the forums back to it's normal self now, have a look. . .
Indeed they are Nelly. One hopes the first thing they're doing after getting them back up is commissioning a new backup server
