I have lost sound from my onboard Nvidia nforce2 MCP-T/NF7-S chipset on my ABIT NF7-S rev 2 motherboard. I have reinstalled the Nvidia 5.10 driver package and both the Codecs and MCP-T Processing Unit drivers show in Device Manager as being registered without problem. Bios has been checked to ensure onboard sound is enabled and Nvidia is shown as the current audio system for sound.
O/S is windows XP Pro with SP3 and a clean reinstall has been done more than once without succcess.
I have also cleared the CMOS and reinstalled the latest bios version d27. When I put this system together sound worked perfectly with the supplied Nvidia driver disk.

My original PSU had to be replaced and the current PSU does not have a -5 volt line.

Anybody know if the lack of -5 volt supply is the cause of no onboard sound. This M/B also has a Realtek ALC650 audio chip.

All suggestions welcomed
