Another A8N SLi question
hey again
I noticed also on the motherboard, the connector for the CPU fan is only three pins, yet the connector on the CPU fan I have is four it looks summet like this at the connect end.
|_|___|
Will this be a problem or will it still operate fine with just the three pins?

If it is a fan connector, not a molex(I'm presuming you know the difference), then it's just one of the newer ones that are appearing, particularly on nvidia branded stuff. It should be designed to fit only one way, and if so should work fine.
IIRC then you just need to use the 3 left hand pins.

some of the newer intel based mobos have 4 pin headers for the CPU HSF, perhaps this hsf works on both, not sure tho

Yeah lol i know the differnence between the molex connectors and the fan connector.
Molex ones are the main ones that provide power to things such as fans etc.
The connector looks like the little diagram above.
So if I use the bit on the right hand side I will be fine?
Edit: My board is an AMD board.

Just try connecting it, these connectors are designed to be backward compatible with the older 3pin kind. You should find it fits perfectly, and one pin will just hang over.

A 3 wire fan on a 4 pin connector will have no speed control unless the fan has a manual speed control.
4 wire fans use PWM to regulate the speed, the fourth wire is the control wire.
When a 3 wire fan is connected to a 4 wire connector the 12v, ground and rpm are used BUT there is no bios setting or control for the fan.
