    Abit AB9pro - graphic card recommendation ?

    Hi,

I've had problems with a recent new build based on an AB9 pro, an E6600 CPU and Windows XP which included RAM errors, a dud PSU and now a dead graphics card (unlucky or what ?!). This was a Galaxy 7900GS which died suddenly having given me no end of trouble with instability. I am therefore after a new graphic card for my system. I'm after something reliable with proven compatibility and am willing to spend around £150. I've never tried overclocking but would like to have a go but my main priority is something that's going to work out of the box with miniumum fuss.....
Main use for the system is audio, photo & video manipulation and some gaming.
I will be watercooling the card for complete silence which I need for the audio work I do.

    Any recommendations ?

I run a Leadtek 512MB 7950GT in my AB9 Pro with no problems but a friend had no end of problems with AB9 Pro and a number of 7950GT's and ended up rma'in his mobo for an asus. I do a fair bit of gaming, CoH, BF2 etc and can run the games with everything turned on and very good frame rates at my monitors limit which is 1280x1024. Obviously this is still a DX9 card but if ur lookin at DX10 then u need to stomp up another £50 to get a 320MB 8800GTS

I have ran a X1950 Pro and now run a 8800 GTS 320 MB on my AB9 Pro. If you can shift your budget up to £180 you could get yourself a DX10 8800 GTS 320MB which would be well worth the money.

In the end I bought a Connect 3D X1950XT for c.£150 and it is a revelation. Took my pc to a new level, and worked perfectly with no fuss....just what I was looking for !
