Just lost the lan on my Board.

Right slightly miffed now, been up and running all day without a hiccup then about 2 minutes ago power goes comes back goes off then back on, great restart my main computer that was on at the time and its fine thankgod BUT just as I get to the login screen windows tells me that theres been a hardware change ???? and that I have 3 days to reactivate ok.

So I thought it would be simple so click on activate and nothing so close that logged in and I cant find my network adaptor anywhere its vanished the light on my modem says its there but I cant find any network places or connect to the internet at all so I'm basically buggerd????? any suggestions.

I've tryed looking for new hardware and unistalling and reinstalling drivers but nothing. Oh and it is enabled in the bios.

There was an issue where the LAN would vanish after running memtest and certain things (how weird! ), but it was solved in an updated BIOS.
You do have the latest one, right?

    Have you reset the bios?
I remember reading about a lan problem on a QuadGT and the guy just reset everything to stock and it started working again.

Yep on number 11, had a look in the usa forums and theres been a few that just vanished so the advice I read over there was to clear the cmos power off for 15 minutes, and leave the network cable unpluged.

I came back 20 minutes later powered up and its fine.
