AB9 QuadGT - Error 8.7
Hi,
New build, have just a Corsair HX620 and QuadGT m/board, E6600 + standard heatsink/fan in place.
Tried a quick POST, getting 8.7 - have checked and reseated CPU, can't see anything around the 8pin 12v connector.
POST code 8.7
"Check CPU core voltage"
"Check 4 pin power plug or replace power supply"
The PSU has a 4 pin power plug, but nowhere on the m/board. I suspect this refers to the 8pin 12v connector then?
Anyone help?

yup, you need to connect the ATX12V1.
4-pin should be fine though but I think that I saw somewhere that Corsair would send you an 8-pin adapter foc.
-
The PSU has 3 connectors: 24pin, 8pin, 4pin
I have both 24pin & 8pin in the m/board. So I'm a bit unsure where I've gone wrong (if I have)!
edit: should have made my first post clearer about having 24-pin & 8-pin in already, I meant that the error referring to a 4-pin plug actually meant the 8pin, which I do have in.

HSF connected to the CPUFan1 header?
-
Check - the heat-sink-fan is connected to CPUFAN1.
I'm just a little nervous, spanked £900 and falling at the first hurdle - I may have to turn to alcohol...
(appreciating your help though!)
edit: the fan initially spins (briefly til 8.7 pops up)

OK f**k me... I'm a lucky boy...!
Decided to plug in rear case fan to SYSFAN1, same thing but it span a little, a series of clicking from the PSU.
OK, one last shot - bugger me there's blue lights flashing all over, got C1 (time to install memory!!).
I have no idea, I don't care I'm just grateful I can carry on!

might want to try another PSU just in case.
I was starting to wonder & clicking PSUs are rarely a good sign.
-
I'm wondering if it was maybe just not enough load to bump start it...?
edit: there's no more clicking whatsoever from the PSU.
