AB9 QuadGT + E6750 1333 FSB

I am about to build a new rig with my son. We got a good deal on an E6750 1333 FSB CPU and an AB9 QuadGT. I understand that we need version 14 BIOS but my question is:

Will the system boot to allow an upgrade to version 14 or do I have to install another CPU to get the QuadGT to version 14?

I have scoured the forums and found two relevent posts, one was in portuguese and the other simply said try it and see with no followup. All recommendations are appreciated.

it should boot.
You want BIOS 15 though as 14 has broken AHCI.

This isn't exactly what you want to do but I booted an AW9D-MAX with BIOS 12 and a Q6600 B3 even though BIOS 12 didn't claim support. It wasn't configured by the BIOS automatically but it did boot and let me into the BIOS

Thanks for the advice. It did boot from a USB flash drive I formatted with the HP format utility. Updated the BIOS and it recognized the E6750. Automatic settings were correct showing 2.66 GHz.

I have BIOS settings to take to 3.8 GHz but we only have the stock cooler so we will see how she runs stock.
