Unhappy My AN-M2 is detecting a SATA drive as CHS rather than LBA !

    Hi,
I own an Abit AN-M2 (stamped on the board itself as AN-M2HD although no HDMI port). I have 2 x Samsung SATA drives installed. 1 x 400GB and 1 x 500GB. My problem is that in the BIOS (v15 which is the latest), one drive is detected as CHS and the other LBA !! They should both be LBA. Both are set to Auto Detect drive mode.

I have the drives connected to SATA ports 1 and 2 (also tried 1 and 3) - they are not in a RAID config.
Could this be a BIOS bug ?

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks

    Fixed it
Believe it or not, it was the hard drive. I located Samsung's latest HD utility and performed a low-level format on the drive. It took over 4 and a half hours (!), but once complete, I rebooted and the drive was detected as LBA.

    /me happy
