    Exclamation IX38 C1-Errorcode

    Hello
I just purchased the ix38 and have just installed it but when i turn on the pc i get the error code C1 and it wont boot. I have tried reseting the cmos both with the jumper and the clear cmos button just to see if that was the problem but it didnt help.
    The manual says:
    C1 auto detect memory
    - auto detection of dram size
    - auto detection of L2 cache (socket 7 and below)

I have also tried installing both 1 and 2 sticks of ocz platinum 8000 in all ram slots and all different combinations with no luck. I just returned home from town where i bought a 1gb kingston stick installed it and i'm stille getting the c1 error code. So i can rule out bad or defective memory but what about the cpu? Its a e6320 couple of months old but the manual only says its checking L2 cache on sockets 7 and below so that shouldnt be a problem either.

So any thougts or help will be apreciated.

might be a memory controller error.

I would suggest trying to get into the bios to up the ddr2 voltage but as you cannot have you tried clearing the cmos.

Then try with just the board no memory or cpu and see what happens.

I have tried clearing the cmos and i have also tried turning on the pc without any ram installed and i still get the C1 error code. That means all fans spin up and everything but i still get the c1 error and the pc wont boot at all.

Unfortunately this board/BIOS doesn't allow you to boot on 1.8v RAM, change RAM voltage in BIOS to what's required, save, swap RAM and boot your RAM at 2.7v? it's rated voltage.
I found it detects something fishy and resets each time.

    Re: IX38 C1-Errorcode

If the mb dosnt allow me to boot on either 1.8v or 2.1v then abit have a serious problem because last time i checked 1.8v was the rated stock voltage for all mb's Even tho thats not the case how am i supposed to get into the bios and change the ram voltage when the board wont boot

If I remember right, even if you set the RAM voltage, it changes it back when you restart.

    And then the BIOS freezes

    Re: IX38 C1-Errorcode

But what about the cpu. Could the cpu be causing the problem im leanning more towards that option since none of the ram works in anyway and I still get the C1 error when booting without any ram installed.
