The computer freezes during boot and just displays some info about the bios "Sil bios bla bla bla"
generally the computer freezes then I restart it and I get this error. I can fix it by turning the power off at my PSU then back on after a few secs.
Whats wrong? :(
The post codes would indicate a power issue. As mentioned by danroyal posting your system specs may help identify the fault.

Re: in9 32x max Post code 8b
We need to know make model and 12 volt amp outputs of the PSU, as Sean said it could be a power issue.

Bump >.<. Please help. this is really frustrating. I think it may be an incompatibility with my 8800. It mostly only freezes when I play games :(.
Re: in9 32x max Post code 8b
I've found on my in9 32-max that the RAM is really fussy over timings, my RAM is OCZ Reaper 1150mhz, set at 800mhz, even with the factory timings from the OCZ website recommended for the 680i chipset there was a lot of blue screens. I had to adjust the timings manually to slow the memory down, since then I rarely get a crash. Also running just 2 sticks of RAM as opposed to 4 sticks helped the stability.
Re: in9 32x max Post code 8b
i'd say go to the 2x1gb sticks of ram it may be the cause of instability plus also the different sizes of memory sticks is more likely to have an adverse effect on your system than a positive one
Re: in9 32x max Post code 8b
True. Thanks guys. I'll try it.
@Abit, Bad impression. Certainly won't buy another Abit mobo :). <3 Asus
Re: in9 32x max Post code 8b
You are not alone Eps, my Abit in9 32x does exactly the same thing, but less often than you describe. Mine will crash in windows and on restart lock up at the POST installation of the SataLink driver. I however get no POST error codes; personally I think they may be an issue with the BIOS as I tend to get CMOS errors at POST at the same time. Out of my technical depth however, any suggestions? I have 2x 1GB RAM, so its probably not the RAM. Cheers.
