ok i got a ab9 pro off ebay (cheap)
i fitted a c2d e6850 cpu and 2 gig of ocz reaper.
when powerd up it comes up:::

Drive A error, system Halted......
my guess is the bios is to old for my cpu,
i just want someone elses ideas before i "PM SEAN" about getting a new bios..
by the way i tryed pluging a floppy in with boot disc and bios on but it still would not try boot form floopy

are you sure that your floppy drive is working properly?
yes i used the same drive to plug in to my an832x just put the bios on a floppy..
same cable too?
the fact that you got "Drive A error, system Halted" is unusual & sounds like a problem with the floppy side of things.
when i first turn the pc on i did not even have a floppy connected,,,spent 10 minates trying to find one...
to ty fix it
it will not even try boot off the floppy
dare I say that could be why it was cheap, have to be so carefull on ebay, u can flash the ab9 with a USB memory stick, will dig around for the instructions, its wot I did as I have no floppy drive on my AB9 Pro
that would be cool if you could tell me how to flash using a usb stick..i dont think it will work thou as i can not get passed the system Halted......
ahhhh, that could be a prob, have u tried a cmos reset, likely u have but just incase, I tend to remove the battery and leave for 5-10mins, also with no power attached
d3fiant i thank you lots for the help......but i can not flash this board like this as i can not even get in to a bios or anywhere near flashing as when i turn her on she goes striaght to bios check sum error and halts .....
ok small update..... i have got the board to post now, have turn it off now till i get the kids in bed...and i will try flash the bios

right after a lot of lock ups freezes and swering, maybe a beer or two. i got it to flash, bingo works much better . just to let everyone know i got to post by remove a stick of ram...
i am now running both gig sticks again. but now i can not get it to detect a ide device if i use a sata converter it works great..but both my dvd rewriters are ide..
this will take all night ....what a shame the wife wants to wrap it all up for xmas....
after spending hours working on it last night, i found my ram is faulty, time to rma it back to ocz,
have to do thats fast as my mate wants his ram back
