You shouldnt have to increase volts (or maybe i just got lucky)
Two Lucky people ? :) - I get 3.2v on Stock with my B3 Q6600. I was delighted. My previous board, Gigabyte X38 DQ6 I had to apply volts of 1.375 to get stable overclock.
Not tried pushing it further yet.
Re: **Official ABIT IX38 QuadGT Review/Overclock/Guide Thread**
hi guys, i'm new to this forum.
I'm thinking of changing my old system, and this mobo has captured my attention. It looks great, from layout to feaures.
But I have 2 questions (since i'm interested in overclocking):
- is it affected by fake boot problem when the system works under overclocked settings?
- is there any vdrop in oc mode?
thanx in advance for helping me :)

if by that you mean double booting then no, uGuru based mobos tend not to have that type of problem because uGuru is involved with strap setting etc.
I'll let someone that has one comment more authoritively on the Vdrop/Vdroop aspect but I believe that it's pretty good.
Your PWM will get hot running a highly overclocked quad though but being digital they are rated to very high temps.
Re: **Official ABIT IX38 QuadGT Review/Overclock/Guide Thread**
with fake boot i mean when the mobo:
-starts for a second
-shut down
-normal start
I've read on other forums that all the new asus mobo have this issue due to the chipset.
Actually I have a p5b (chipset intel p965) and it acts like described above when i overclock (only when i cut the power off). If I leave the pc connected to the electric line it won't present fake boot.

I havent had this issue :)
I think alot of the P35 have though.
Also, the Vdroop on the ABIT boards is never as bad (not noticeable on this one), as the ASUS ones.
Re: **Official ABIT IX38 QuadGT Review/Overclock/Guide Thread**
fantastic! this probabably will be my next mobo, but i want to see the ip45 pro how it works first :)

Do you know of any way to force the bootstrap on this board to help relax the MCH timings?

Hell's bells had given up on that one
Re: **Official ABIT IX38 QuadGT Review/Overclock/Guide Thread**
I've got the manual .pdf for it if you want?
Re: **Official ABIT IX38 QuadGT Review/Overclock/Guide Thread**
if it's the X38 max I had it already since around october when it was mothballed. I put the link up on Abit & in my own thread I think. :)
Re: **Official ABIT IX38 QuadGT Review/Overclock/Guide Thread**
it shouldn't be but I haven't checked the 2 (I had that .pdf way back then as well).
I'm guessing (but of course I could be wrong) that we are going to see:
IX38 QuadGT DDR2/ IX38 QuadGT3 DDR3
IX48 QuadGT3 DDR3 (will there be a DDR2 version as well?)
IX48-MAX (will there be a DDR2 version as well?)
