Re: **Official ABIT IX38 QuadGT Review/Overclock/Guide Thread**
Can anyone tell me how to reset the OC Guru to factory settings?
I was playing with it this morning, and now it hangs every time It starts.
I've tried following the tip in the manual, which says after a restart I should be greeted with a message that will reset to FD, but it doesn't happen.
Cheers.

Just wondered which Intel Update INF board drivers are you using with this ?
Re: **Official ABIT IX38 QuadGT Review/Overclock/Guide Thread**

Hi! I have problems with my new OCZ DDR2
I have OCZ PC8500 1066Mhz 2 x2 GB, and everytime I boot i get the message. "System Running in File-Save State, please recheck BIOS CMOC SETUP."
I try the Bios with the E0 Support, and the new "16" Bios..
Yes, I resettet all setting to all possible defaults.....
Re: **Official ABIT IX38 QuadGT Review/Overclock/Guide Thread**
why do you think that the problem is with your RAM?
please supply full system specs. incl. make & models.
Re: **Official ABIT IX38 QuadGT Review/Overclock/Guide Thread**
When you publish lists of new support for cpu?
I have a Q9400 and I have trouble with the temp to 103 º: S
Re: **Official ABIT IX38 QuadGT Review/Overclock/Guide Thread**
you do know that abit are out of the mobo business?
I wouldn't expect too much in the way of BIOS updates.

Is usa-abit forum dead or on new adress?
Re: **Official ABIT IX38 QuadGT Review/Overclock/Guide Thread**
Some IX38 questions. Grateful to recieve answers a month later, hence putting in this thread :)
- Not using a CPU fan
Watercooled, so I'd rather not plug a 120mm case fan in to stop the alarm as I am curently doing. The only option I could see in the bios that might affect this was an overall cpu protection warning system*, that only had an on/off. I'd rather not fiddle and turn off the "if it gets over 65°, shut down" type protection.
- Uguru administrator error on XP64 sorted yet? [might need a new forum post]
Best result on a protracted internet search was this thread:
http://forums.hexus.net/abit-care-he...-eq-error.html
Code:
http://forums.hexus.net/abit-care-hexus/131816-abit-eq-error.html
Of course, the link to the abit forums given right at the end of the thread no longer works.
I wanted to use this software for the next question's reason...
- What are people using to test CPU temperature, and adjust fan speed on the IX38?
I didnt even bother to reapply thermal past properly to the waterblock and cpu when build testing, after removing the stock cooler. So not a surprise really, to see Core temp with a discrepancy of 15° between the two cores at the moment :juggle:
And I've never got speed fan to actually do anything with the last 3 mobos I have tried it with. I could just be being utterly dumb, but its not exactly the best worded/laid out/intuitive app going [cant argue with free, though]
Anything better for the IX38? [Anticipating needing to use a 120mm behind the hard drives in the summer]
*sorry for bad name, will try to edit post after next reboot.
Re: **Official ABIT IX38 QuadGT Review/Overclock/Guide Thread**
I just plug the pumps speed sense wire into the mobo fan header, that way if the pump fails it wont need to wait for the cpu to overheat before automatically shutting down. If your pump doesn't have a speed sense output just disable the fan monitoring and make sure the temperature monitoring is set up accordingly in uguru (which i think is mirriored in the bios)
Re: **Official ABIT IX38 QuadGT Review/Overclock/Guide Thread**
Doh.
Missed the extra tab along the top in the uguru bios section. Thought it was missing a lot of stuff!
That pretty much clears up all of the above. Will need to reapply paste before worrying about Core Temp's discrepancy.
Just needing an I/O shield now. I notice Abit's UK shop doesnt have an entry on for a shield for the IX38 like some of the other models do.

TY!

Re: **Official ABIT IX38 QuadGT Review/Overclock/Guide Thread**
Tried putting my brand new Q9650 in my IX38 last night.... Flashed bios to latest version on the Abit site, as it should have 45nm support (should have since a couple of bios´es ago). But no-go.... It´s fine, until Windows starts loading, could get into bios and all, but a second or two into Windows loading, blue screen.... Tried with just one stick of RAM, Windows repair and some other things... Is it because the q9650 is a E0, that it won´t play ball ?
Facts :
CPU before E6750
PSU Corsair HX520W
RAM Crucial Ballistix Tracer PC2-6400 2Gb
HDD Samsung F1 1Tb
GFX Evga GTX260 SSC (core216 55nm)
Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Titanium Pci-E
Re: **Official ABIT IX38 QuadGT Review/Overclock/Guide Thread**
what does the bsod say?
If it's getting that far & then falling over my guess would be that it's most likely a voltage somewhere that isn't right.
have you tried the latest BIOS linked from the EO support thread here (it will be slightly different than the 1 on the main abit site)?
Re: **Official ABIT IX38 QuadGT Review/Overclock/Guide Thread**
Keep us posted on how you go with this!
Is the Q9650 recognised and correctly named by the bios? If so, have you tried an underclock on the processor and memory?
