    A-N78HD losing boot drive priority

    Hi
I'm using an IDE (slave) drive to boot from (its my smallest drive and all my others are SATA).
My problem is that the BIOS keeps losing its drive priority (say 3-4 times per week).
How can I fix this please?
    Regards
    David

Re: A-N78HD losing boot drive priority

    A bit more info...

This now happens if I power down the machine for more than approx 4 hours but not before!
I have three SATA drives connected on sata 1, sata 2 and sata 4.

WHilst its annoying for me, I'm now getting grief from my wife (we are talking real escalation here!) so please help.

    I GIVE UP.

Well, after all this time as well as various emails to Holland, I finally give up. I'm buying another mobo and ebaying this piece of junk.
I have to say, regardless of how Abit mobos perform I'll never buy another as support is non existent. I will however be using this as an example of how NOT to provide customer service. Further, I'll be explaining to corporate client customers over the next two years just how bad Abit are at support. That bit I WILL enjoy...

you don't seem to realise that abit don't exist any more as a manufacturer & haven't made a mobo for ~ 1 year.
They could have just shut up shop & left you with no support at all so leaving some actually strikes me as above average customer service.

is the mobo older than 2 years?

Re: A-N78HD losing boot drive priority

    Hi Buff.

The board is about three months old. I haven't changed thebatt as no other settings are affected. Having had batt issues in the past, I've always found that many issues change rather than just one.

I sure as hell wasn't aware... If I'd have jhad any idea I'd never have bought the thing. Hey ho! It's just occurred to me that I should just return the thing...
