Can't get my abit AB9 Pro to boot!!! :(

I recently purchased parts to build a completely new computer and among those parts was this abit AB9 Pro. I put it all together and as soon as I turn the power supply on (RAIDMAX RX-580 [ATX12V]) and error code comes up on the motherboard. 8.2. In the manual is says that I need to turn the power supply on "Enable ATX power supply". Does this mean that my brand new power supply is shot or am I just doing something wrong possibly?

Have you got all the additional cables plugged in?

I wouldn't refer to myself as an expert, especially since i'm forced to seek help on forums, but I do work with computers for a living and am pretty familiar with them. I'm fairly certain I had everything connected properly. I checked the connections two or three times prior to coming on here for advice.

You'd be suprised how many times people miss simple things, especially when there in a rush to build up there new rig.
I presume that you have all 3 of the powers from the PSU going into the board and that my post was not helpful in the slightest.
However your apparent air of arrogance is unlikely to get any more responce, ******.

m8 even the best come to these forums for assurance, theres some pretty hot (as in good, not goodlooking ) members. I assume u have the 24cable main PSU cable over the 20pin, some PSU's require a converter cable, I have one on my AB9 Pro which goes from my PSUs 20pin to 24pin, only a couple of quid, oh and also the addtional 12V 4pin is plugged in?

I believe there was discussion that the AB9 worked with a 20pin cable but I have never tried

Trig, not so sure there was any arrogance in his post, but ur first wasnt exactly strong on detail

    Oh, and btw..

ABIT-usa AB9 Pro PCSTATS Review - Full listing of PORT 80 error codes

8.2 says enable ATX power supply.

I take it that you didnt google first, guess your too proud to use google as you seem to be reluctant to ask for help due to the fact you work with PC's for a living...

I had the 20pin plugged in on mine with the 4 pin square and the 4 pin flat and it worked fine.

I think you must've misread my posts because I was not trying to sound arrogant at all. Actaully... I do believe I pointed out that fact that it's quite possible I was doing something wrong and that I was no expert. I apologize if somehow I came off as arrogant but that was not my intention.

Anyways... As a slight update, i've taken my power supply into work and i'm going to borrow a friends power supply tester today to see if that's the issue.

Thanks for any and all responses.

Re: Can't get my abit AB9 Pro to boot!!! :(

Word of warning, I had an Antec PSU tester, worked fine, just if you have one dont leave it pluggedin for too long, plugged mine in, phone rang, on phone, mmmm whats that weird smell...
Internal components got damned hot and the plastic casing was sagging under its own weight...
