    IX38 Quad GT issues

I built a new system around a week ago with the following spec :

    IX38 Quad
    Q6600 G0
    2 x 1GB Ballistic
    PSU - Enermax Infiniti 720W
    1 x Samsung 500GB - on SATA1
    1 x Western Digital - on SATA2
    1 x DVD-RAM on SATA3
    1 x Samsung 160GB on eSATA1
    SB X-FI on PCIe x1
    BIOS 11

I'm running it at stock and all was fine. However, after installing bits of software such as mcafee virusscan, firewall etc.. I started getting problems.

    I'm on XP SP2

It all worked fine at first but now I get two problems that are pis*ing me off no end.

    1. The mouse pointer freezes but the machine doesn't lock-up i.e. I can move an invisible pointer and select icons. If I turn off the eSATA hard drive the pointer comes back to life. There must be some kind of conflict with eSATA and the display. If I don't turn off the eSATA the system sometimes blue screens with a note about the nvdisplay.dll driver causes problems.

    2. The other issue is that when closing down XP the mobo beeps continually with 2 beeps/pause. Any ideas what this means?

I'd appreciate any help as I'm a bit stuck.

    Re: IX38 Quad GT issues

I figured out what the beeping was due it. There was a disk in my floppy drive. Once ejected that beeping stopped, very weird!

I still have the e-SATA conflict though. Hopefully the beta bios sorts it out.
