AB9 Pro looses Bios config after mains unplugged

If I unplug the computer and then plug it back, all the uGuru config is lost.
I try to load the saved config but it does not work.
I really start to believe that there is something wrong with this board.
It is very stable at 457 FSB but sometimes after a reboot, it looses the overclock config too.
Bios 21 btw but i had this problem before.
Help needed please or I'll throw it by the window!

Re: AB9 Pro looses Bios config after mains unplugged

could be the bios battery is a bad one and needs to be replaced, thats what holds the settings when mains is removed. As far as I am aware they are easy to get hold of, maplins is a good place, however prob worth takin the old one with u to ensure correct replacement.

also check the reset bios pins aren't shorted, i.e ur jumper is on the correct pins

Re: AB9 Pro looses Bios config after mains unplugged

I don't think it's your battery. I have the same exact problem. It's just the uGURU overclocking settings, right? Not the ram timings or anything else. Just the clock speeds, voltages and fan drive settings. I noticed it with bios 2.1 and 2.2 still does it AFAIK. I'm not sure when it began, but I don't think it was always like this. I don't really want to flash back to various older bios versions to see if it is a bios issue. At this point, I just live with it.

At first I thought it was the cmos battery, but I pulled it out and checked the voltage with a dimm. It was fine.

Anyone else see this issue or know what's causing it?

Re: AB9 Pro looses Bios config after mains unplugged

It's been like that since more than 6 BIOS updates.
And yes it's only the uGuru overclocking settings which are reset.
I do live with it but it drives me nuts sometimes as the computer reboots and I loose my session (from S3).
I did not check the battery but if it was dead it would act like a clear CMOS which isn't the case.
Thanks for your input and I hope someone at Abit will find a solution.

Re: AB9 Pro looses Bios config after mains unplugged

I don't use S3 suspend, but I've heard that could be an issue. When I first set up my machine as a dual boot, vista had sleep mode turned on by default and I noticed it would clear the uGuru settings when it came back.

What drives me nuts the most is all the fanEQ settings are lost. I have the motherboard control all my case fans so the computer stays pretty quiet. Whenever I unhook the power I have to reset all those fan speed settings.

We have the exact same problem. I emailed tech support.
Will let you know if I hear anything from them.
