    welcome
It helps others to help you if they know exactly what you are dealing with.
Please supply a full system specification incl. make, models, RAM config etc.

Having said that you may well be sol as afaik there is no BIOS for the AW9D with support for RO stepping CPUs.

Hah was typing my response but Buff beat me to it.

Yep I think that would be your best bet. Failing that choose from the list I posted. At least you will be safe in the knowledge that with a bios 16 it will work okay

have you tried with just 1 DIMM installed?
I'm reasonably certain that RAM combo will need you to set manually higher than default RAM voltage.

    Re: AW9D-MAX and Wolfdale: Compatible??

I never thought a 1333 would work in a 1066 without it underclocking the cpu?

"I never thought a 1333 would work in a 1066 " not quite sure what you mean but the AW9D does support some 1333fsb CPUs (iirc this is abit provided support as iirc Intel doesn't claim 1333 support for the 975X chipset) & it's been known to get into the middle 400s when overclocked.

    Re: AW9D-MAX and Wolfdale: Compatible??

yes, but the E7500 is an RO stepping afaik & none of those supported are.
it's the 1333fsb north bridge memory strap.

    Re: AW9D-MAX and Wolfdale: Compatible??

The AW9D-MAX didnt even support the Q6600 properly (though ABIT claimed it did) so i had to upgrade to X38 QuadGT.

As good as ABIT were, now the support has gone, i wouldnt touch an ABIT board with a bargepole again.
The X48/X58 ABIT^ boards are still around for sale, but they aren't worth the PCB they are printed on now.

I despise ASUS but thats the direction i would take from now on.

Yes R0 no support but if I RMA the E7500 for a E 8400 it might work according to the list

1333 strap so do it force the north bridge to recognize 1333 or does it pull 1333 down to 1066 lowering the GHz
