After reading the other threads I found another user with a simular problem to the one I'm having, due to the new member/URL rule I can not post the link. The topic is "Fatal1ty FP-IN9 SLI fails to boot" by memberTomster.
Just trying to boot the board on the box as you normally would when setting up a build as to avoid damage of any sort to the MB and also to rule out external issues (i.e. the case/assesories)
ABIT Fatality F190HD
INTEL P4 D 820 2.8Ghz LGA 775 CPU SL8CP 2Mb
PC2-6400 800 MHz 240pin DDR2-2x 1GB
ABT-700MA1S
I've attempted :
re-seating the cpu/heatsinkfan and memory
using a 667 stick of dd2 instead of my intended pair of 800 frequency sticks
rotating the location of the memory stick (starting at slot 4, moving on)
clearing the Cmos at the beginning as well as at various intervals through out testing
trying an "alternative" power supply
booting off the on-board VGA, as well as several other PCIE adaptors
Amongst other things
The end result nomatter what is changed, is that despite the red and yellow indicator lights showing things are normal, there is no speaker sound, nor any activity from the system apon power up
I have actually sent an email off to tech support as well though I am unfamilier with their responce time and in the meanwhile thought I'd try here.
Personally I am considering the possibility of a dead board, some advice on using the eu RMA system would be welcomed, the product is well under 2 years old, and should be covered by it, I am gutted at this situation
