    Unhappy FP-IN9 SLI - 4Gb RAM Vista 64 Issue

    Hello,

I'm seeking the guidance of any one here who could shed some light onto my botchings!!!

I have recently replaced my crucial RAM for some OCZ because I wanted SLI compatible stuff (I'm not sure why as I'm quite new to SLI so still figuring it all out). Vista 64 Boots up ok but says there is only 3Gb's of RAM When I have installed 4 1Gb Modules. CPUZ says the third dim slot is always vacant no matter which module i place in it. Also if I just use two modules in Dimms 1 & 3 it still says dimm 3 is vacant but I get 2 Gb's ok

Its a new board so I hope I don't have to replace it, is this some sort of common problem that everyone suffers?

    Cheers,
    Nim.

    Re: FP-IN9 SLI - 4Gb RAM Vista 64 Issue

I took all the RAM out today and tried it 1 stick at a time in slot 1 and then pairs in slots 1 and 3. It wasnt untill I checked sinlge dimms in each slot that i discovered slot 2 (actual slot 3) doesn't work! With 1 dimm in the machine powers up and hangs on a warning beep I'm fast becoming dissapointed with Abit.

I wouldn't get any 650i SLI mobo again (I've got the Asus & I wouldn't recommend it) they are all victims of the poor chipset.

    MSI P55-GD80, i5 750
    abit A-S78H, Phenom 9750,

Lightbulb Re: FP-IN9 SLI - 4Gb RAM Vista 64 Issue

The 650i ins´t the only problem with this board.... The vCORE problem is related to ABIT´s fault !

For the owner of the tread i recommend you to set 1.95v to the memory voltage, and set 2%+ the memory referency voltage.

This help me to get 4x 1GB stable under S.O

    Regard´s
