    Fresh install, no internet

    Hello,

I just reformatted my computer, installed Windows XP Corporate Edition with SP2 (x64). After installing the nForce Ethernet driver (among other drivers), I don't have an internet connection.

I downloaded the most recent drivers for my motherboard (KN9 with nForce 4). The drivers install correctly but after several reboots I don't see any change.

Am I missing something blatantly obvious? Is it Windows or something driver-related?

    Thanks.

Can you try installing the ethernet driver again? This has happened to me and when i re-installed it all was fine.

Check the Device Manger to make sure the device installed correctly. If so, then disable it wait 10 seconds then enable it again. If this don't work uninstall the driver then discover it again.

If the device is there, run the network setup wizard in network connections.

I assume this isn't the case, but a warez copy of Windows x64 also has a serious network issue. The network connection will be present, but packets won't be received (It'll always stay at zero). I came across this on another forum. If this is the case though, please don't get going into any further details - We are strictly no warez discussion

    Re: Fresh install, no internet

    Resolved.

I had to install the driver from the CD that came with the abit motherboard. Strangely, this driver is the same as the driver I downloaded (and installed at least 8 times...).

Same thing happened with the Realtek drivers. Problem was that I didn't find the CD, but when all else failed I looked for it and found it.
