    As I said, 650i chipset doesn't support 45nm quadcore CPU's.

    Re: FP-IN9 and a Q9550

Hi Guys, i got quite the same problem as above.

I bought a Q9550 cauz bios version 16 / especially version 18 should support c2q E0. Anyway, my system doesn't boot. My monitor stays black. With my old chip everything is fine. What should i do? I did well with this mobo and dont really want to buy a new one now.

edit: i got the same mobo and same cpu as Juve

    Re: FP-IN9 and a Q9550

Try to UPDATE the BIOS under DOS mode. After this do a full CLEAR CMOS. If you can´t do this with the currrent CPU try with the older one. After the BIOS update change the CPU and see if works...

Since you gonna try you could test BIOS18 and BIOS16, always throught DOS mode. BIOS 16 could workout, but with stranges temp, that´s what a read around. I have a C0 CPU, works and overclock like a ROCK.

It whould be nice to know if E0 Quad 45nm CPU work´s with this mobo, using BIOS 16 or 18.

    Thanks for the try man!

    Re: FP-IN9 and a Q9550

I've tried with mine ABIT FP-IN9 and E8400 E0 without sucess.
Updated to BIOS 18 and cleared cmos.

When I power up the system, the cooler runs, but there aren't beep or post.
    I'm disappointed. =//

    Any sugestions ?

    Re: FP-IN9 and a Q9550

    Hello - first post!

    I have a non-overclocked FP-IN9 with E6600 running 100% fine for some years.
Now I got a new Q9550 cpu and want to replace the old E6600 by this one.
I updated the bios to version 17 (the latest official one in the site), replaced cpus and cleared cmos.
After power on (with crossed fingers) I was able to entry in the BIOS setup and after some seconds (varying from 10 to 60 seconds) the machine freeze when still inside the BIOS setup.

After sadly reducing the fsb to 1067 MHz ( Q9550 is 1333 MHz ) I was able to start Windows XP installation but got BSoD in the middle of installation. Same thing to Ubuntu (Linux).

For this MB, I see (somewhere) in this forum a link to bios version 18 despite the official site STILL report the last bios update is version 17. Does this means version 18 is too bad to officially be considered an upgrade over version 17 ?

Is there a chance FP-IN9 starts to work with Q9550 if I update to version 18 ?

Are there any special information ( core voltages or anything else ) I need to be aware to make such cpu upgrade ?

    Thank you
    Marcio

    Thumbs up Re: FP-IN9 and a Q9550

    Read this dude !

EDIT: I find one post that you have on this tread, your IN9 does not work with BIOS 18? Did try the BIOS update under DOS and a clear cmos after?

Turn the system on after changing the jumper to the CLEAR position, just ot be sure, after that change the jumper and iif no video in the screen try to perss 3 times the RESET button, Click, click click, one after the other, this force the motherboard to inicialize em safe mode.

Also try to press the reset button for 3 sec time, also this force the motherboard to inicialize em safe mode.

    Good Luck !

Updated to BIOS 18 and cleared cmos.
