post code 25

im getting good old post code 25. its not the video card that works and its not the keyboard and mouse both work including the video card so that can't be the problem.what is bother me is that when i do get the errror 25 and i try and clear the cmos the computer will turn off and won't turn back on till put the pins back. could this be the issue? i have also tried reseating the ram and its not that also did a memory test and the ram is fine.

you aren't trying to clearCMOS with the system running are you?
