    Exclamation ABIT IX48 GT3 problem

    Good morning everyone
last night my PC wouldn't boot up, and I could hear a 'clicking' noise in it...
So, the last thing I wanted to do... well I did it around midnight...
Had to open the case, and check things out... after removing parts one by one, I found where the noise was coming from... at the bottom right of the mobo, where the little digital screen is, there are these 2 buttons, the 'reset' and 'power'...
These are not fully lit... actually their lighting is blinking, and also make this clicking noise...
Should I think that the mobo died? That was it? The end of my SO loved Abit era???
Or anyone has any idea of what that could be (maybe an often occuring fixable problem?)

    Re: ABIT IX48 GT3 problem

Since I couldn't be without a PC, I bought the mobo MSI P67A-GD55 (B3) and CPU Intel i5-2500K.
Will use same memory DDR3 - 1333, I had in.
Now, about the HD... it's a Crucial SSD... I just plug it in and everything will work fine? Have never changed mobo and keep the same HD in the past...
    What should I expect?
ANy particular steps that would help any compatibilities issues?
    Thanks guys!

Changing the motherboard will usually require a repair install -

    Re: ABIT IX48 GT3 problem

Clicking noise means there's a short somewhere (PSU is trying to start up, runs into a short and the protection circuitry immediately shuts it down again, rinse and repeat.. )
