Re: Abit AW9D-MAX BSOD ERROR
Do you have the exact model of your RAM sticks? According to the official compatibility list, the types below are the only compatible Corsair PC6400 (800mhz) RAM for your mobo.
(from abit.ws/test-report/aw9d_series.htm@2 )
Corsair CM2X1024-8888C4D
Corsair CM2X1024-8500C5D

Re: Abit AW9D-MAX BSOD ERROR
Maybe that's the issue then, as that RAM isn't listed as being compatible for your mobo on the page in my first post.
It might also be tinkering with timings as well though - maybe try using SPD if you're using manual settings at the moment?
Re: Abit AW9D-MAX BSOD ERROR
As always with S775 systems with intel chipsets: If you use all 4 RAM slots, up the RAM voltage and the northbridge voltage slightly.
Going for 2.10V on the RAM is way overkill. 1.85-1.90V is more than enough. As for the northbridge voltage, try +0.10V at first. Don't go overboard though, because Intel chipsets tend to run rather hot as they are..
Compatibility lists aren't worth a fart. Not back then, not today. They're pretty much never updated and usually don't contain any useful selection of RAM to begin with.

Thanks Bambooz,
I am following your advice. The ram is now at 1.80 v and i have upped the northbridge voltage. So far ok.
