Broken memory clip on IS7

In the mad rush to get a system memory upgrade in and the PC back on I managed to break one of the little leavers at the side of the dimm socket. Its completely broken in two, the little rigged plastic bit has broken off leaving only a small bit attached.

I have had to go with only the one clip holding the memory in place, not sure if this advisable long-term. Is this a replaceable part? I think its a fairly standard part across many motherboard manufactures, maybe I could prise one from an old board???? Any ideas????

The easy thing for you to do is to find an old motherboard, I would not recommend using the damaged slot for too long.

I might be able to find one if you are unable to locate a spare.

Haven't been able to find a spare part, but a good old cable tie is keeping the memory secure at the moment. I'm not in a rush to get this fixed as it would probably involve removing the motherboard from the case. I will need to be more careful in the future.

It can be a very hard job to replace the clip, and you are right you need to remove the motherboard.
