Thumbs up Does recall give you confidence in Abit

This isn't a thread to knock Abit for the recall but for customers to pass on their views about the recall.

Personally I appreciate Abit being honest and upfront about recalling motherboards which potentially have a problem which may only affect a few hundred or so motherboards especially when you invest over £120 for a motherboard, they could simply have sat back and dealt with rma's from those defective boards.

Does this give me confidence in buying their equipment again:
This is customer care and quality control at it's best so without a doubt: YES

    I agree.
Same as with the caps problem a couple of years ago - afaik Abit were pretty much the only mobo mfr to not only openly hold their hands up when they all suffered from it (& some still appear to) but actually put their hands in their pockets to fix customer's mobos.

I agree also, as I alluded to in the other thread about the recall. Unfortunately not everyone sees this honest policy the same way. As I recall the bad caps issue a few years back put a serious dent into Abit's sales. Hopefully this will not be the same this time round.

Agreed; any product can be faulty. Any product can fail. What really matters is that a company stands by its products and either fixes it or provides a means whereby its customers can get a solution. I've bought Abit in the past and I'd have no hesitation doing the same again.

I tend to judge a company by how they fix their problems rather than what problems they have.

Of the recall wont increase my desire to buy an abit board, but it hasn't lowered it either.

At the end of the day, you cannot produce huge amounts of anything without something going horribly wrong now and again. I'd still buy an abit board.

Yeah, you all are lucky, compared to RMA process in Malaysia.
