AB9 Pro Fail Memtest
I have a ABIT AB9 PRO and Corsair Value Select VS2GBKIT667D2 constently failing memtest.
I am using the default settings, i was able to load windows successfully and install all the drivers etc, etc, but as soon as i ran 3DMark06 it blue screened IRQ_LESS_OR_NOT_EQUAL blah blah
so i rebooted and ran memtest86+ v1.65 and reported heaps of errors
i thought the memory may be faultly so i tried 1 stick in single channel mode and still the memory fails,
i tired another kit of the same make and model and still failed
I tested with the Corsair VS512MB533D2 and it still reports errors but not untill test 8 rather then in test 3 like all the other sticks ive tired,
i was also able to complete 3dmark06 and score 8001 3dmarks with this setup
so the problem is with 667MHz Corsair Value Select it appears so far..
also using
Antec NeoHE 550W
Intel Core 2 Duo 6600
XpertVision GeForce 7950GX2 1GB
Any suggestions thanks guys..

I contacted Abit and there recommendation is to set the DDR2 DIMM Voltage to 1.90 or heigher from the default 1.80. i am currently running the test and will post the how it goes.
-
still no sucess, i have tried another AB9 PRO board with Corsair TWIN2X2048-5400C4 using SPD settings and manually setting timings and voltages
:angst:
and that is failing too i dont know what to do now.
-
so my question is has anybody here had experenice using this board and Corsair memory?
-
Hi there,
I just started using abit9 pro with 2 x 512MB Corsair and had no issues with the MEM, but I started by using the default settings as I don't feel that confident with manual settigns.
Have you tried using the default settings to start?
I have a problem with the CPU fan and the other fans though! they stay on all the time and I don't know how to set them so they go off when the system goes on Standby.
any Ideas ?

i firstly tried with the default settings, then started tweaking the BIOS and stuff
what corsair modules are you using??? if you don't mind me asking
-
or rather has anybody used memtest86+ v1.65 with this motherboard??
-
HI there,
I use Corsair 2 x 512MB 667MHZ-5400 DDR2 nothing fancy but it works :)
-
could you do me a favour and run memtest86+ on your system http://www.memtest.org/#downiso and let me know how you go
-
I did,
all seems fine to me - What did you want to know?
-
My AB9 Pro is failing Memtest as well. I've tried upping voltages and slacking timings but it is making no difference. I've tried a version of regular memtest (3.2 I think) and Memtest86+, v1.65 but it fails each time. This system is proving to be as unstable as a three legged dog on rollerskates but if I have duff memory that would explain it.
I'm using unbranded Scan PC2-5300 stuff, nowt special but it should still work...
-
ok only using the VS2GBKIT667D2 (1x1GB) i manually set my timings to 4-4-4-14 and voltage to 1.9 with BIOS version 1.3 install the DIMMS in to the first green and orange DIMM slots and now everything is sweet..
woohoo..
-
man i feel silly after all of that..
-
Why should you feel silly? Memory performance is improved by interleaving banks and that's why the slots are colour coded and you're meant to use them as such. The board SHOULD be able to support the use of matched memory in paired banks i.e. 1 and 3 or 2 and 4
