Is this delay to iron out bugs and ensure a high quality, reliable best-of-breed product on release? A few weeks ago we were informed that they were on their way from Asia and should be available by the following week-end.

I currently have abit boards, and have been tempted to go ASUS, but abit after a somewhat wayward period, seemed to be getting their act back together, and are very good at customer support, BIOS updates etc.

I am happy to wait until January for the 680i board, as long as I can be sure it will be a 'real good-un', and would be interested to understand the (real) reason for the delay.
Try to make each and every day the best it can be.

afaik Sean said mid-December, I don't recall any following weekend for the IN9 32X.

There do appear to be some problems with the 680is (eVGA, Asus etc.) at this time judging by the forums so hopefully the extra time can be put to some good use.

The boards hasn't been delayed, the release can be changed from time to time. The first date I was given was just an estimate. Now the official release date is the 1st week in January.

Its always hard to release a motherboard during the christmas period as there are so many factors that can slow the shipping time down. But this motherboard will be worth the wait.

Appology.... I misread.... it was a comment about the IL9 and the last post was about drooling over the IN9 - forgive an old fool...?

A quick question Sean, MSI are to release thier version end of this month. They are promoting
"Besides the enthusiast products, P6N SLI Platinum is also an extreme SLI gaming platform for mainstream gaming users. The Core 2 Quad processors and Vista Premium are the basic functions of this motherboard. "

I presume this is marketing speak and that the IN9 32X is equally compatible?

I will be installing the Ultimate version of Vista on my new system. Hope to christ you get a good supply of this mobo in the UK!!!! pre ordered at Aria

Are you aware that one large UK (r)etailer is claiming that you have the boards available now and that you are not releasing them because the BIOS isn't stable over 450FSB?

They are also claiming that they have pre-purchased almost half the official UK allocation and that between themselves and another big (r)etailer they have 95% of the initial UK allocation?

    Any comment on either point?

I work in the customer support department and have no idea about stock allocation or the progress of new models.

You will have to wait for the price to be officially released next month. As I said before I work in the customer support department and do not get a price list for our products.

OK, could you pass the message on then please? I have mine pre-ordered anyway, but I think this could affect Abit negatively as the same source is now claiming that NVidia are limiting supply of the 680i chipset supply into the European market in a way that sounds highly anti-competitive. It's just messy, you know?
