The abit IN9 32x-MAX looks to be on my Christmas list..... it appears to be £60 cheaper than the ASUS Striker Extream, and £30 less than the eVGA 680i board.... which is GOOD, but why?? what has it got the IN9 does not?

The abit is still a premium price (but one I am prepared to pay), but the ASUS price seems way OTT.... or do they have something so special that it is worth it???

As a current abit board user...... I need to know!
Try to make each and every day the best it can be.

Price appears to have gone up, originally at around £165 as still shown by SpecialTech Abit IN9 32X-MAX
it's now showing as Overclockers UK £234.99 Release date 8/01/07 Tekheads are also showing it at £233.83 including VAT.

Hear what your saying but that's what's confused me all along about these 680i offerings. Have only seen a single board on the abit site. Asus has the Asus P5N32-E SLI NF680i £176.24 & Asus Striker Exteme NF680i SLI £251.44 When u look at the specs the boards apear identical or pretty close the extra on the striker apoears to be taken up with bloatware,(full copy of 3dmark 06 etc., The abit board of whichi've only seen 1 version pleasently suprised me being at the lower £176 poimt seems to have moved to the striker price point. Supose we have to just wait & see.

Edit: Excuse me if my spelling is off in the above post. it's the fault of you scots from sunny places. My son & girlfriend just arrived from sunny Motherwell this morning (00:15) & we had to share a bottle or 2 - At least it feels more like xmas

    Luck

rumour has it that the IN9 32X-MAX will ship with 1 of abit's new PCI-E wireless cards as part of the bundle.

Hate 2 say it but this board seems to be rising in £ not much difference between it & the bloatware striker, Abit IN9 32X-MAX nForce 680 PCI-ETekheads . Aria & OCUk are within £5. Since original info it seems to have gained a wifi PCI-E card, if i need something like that i'd rather buy it rather than have unwanted components thrust on me in an effort to ad value to a product.

I'm thinking on waiting for 650i Ultra as I don't foresee running SLI.

there is only 1 model shown on the abit site. in fairness i doubt that i'll run SLI, but I want access to the other features that accompany sli. ASUS P5N-E SLI: NVIDIA's 650i enters with a Bang plus i do,'t want to wait beyond ther end of Jan now (Santa wa good to me - wife gave me more £ than i expected )
