    Question AB9 Pro question

    Hi,

I am soon gonna buy a new set of components and after two weeks hesitating on what I should buy, my budget finally decided for me.

    I plan on getting that:

    >Abit AB9 Pro
    >TWIN2X2048-6400C4
    >Core 2 Duo E6300
    >Leadtek 7300GT Extreme

I am not a hardcore gamer so graphic card should be enough for me but regarding the rest I am not 100% sure what I want to achieve will actually work.
I plan on getting the E6300 between 2.8 - 3.0GHz. I have a Zalman 7700 alCu for the cooling part and a Thermaltake buterfly 480W PSU. All that is in a Lian-Li pc7 case.

Even if I cannot go beyond 2.8 I would not be disapointed but regarding the ram: will it work on this mobo without having to start it with ddr2 533 or other annoying solution?

I've been reading so many contradictory statements in many forum that in the end I'd like to find someone who actually has that kind of config.

Well hope someone will be able to help me!
    Thanks in advance.

    Maybe I wasn't too clear...

I'd like to know if I can expect the E6300 to run in that range of frequency without too much trouble.
Also, I guess it should be ok with the xms2 (1.8v by default) for the first boot on ab9 pro but I'd like to double check, that's it!

Well if anyone has a clue please reply!

I don't know to be honest...
The more you pay for the Ram/the higher the default frequency the higher you tend to get..

And yes, it will boot at lower frequencies most probably.. At least that was the case with DDR (Have yet to use DDR2)

Shouldnt' be a problem to boot straight away with that ram. Once you've got the board booting, set the memory to run at 533 (this forces 1:1 divider) set vcore to ~ 1.35 and vdimm to 2.1 and FSB to 333. You can also manually set the memorys rated timings. If that boots ok, work your way up to whatever speed you want 1.35v should be plenty for 400 FSB, so you could just bite the bullet and set that straight after 333 if you wanted

    Sata problem with raptor 36Gb

Now that I received the parts from scan,
I assembled everything and I try to install windows XP.
The problem is that, even though the raptor is recognised, it is very very slow: I cannot format it... would take days.
When I do a quick format, it seem to work and after reboot I get files missing or corrupt and installation fails.
I connected the raptor on sata1 and my dvd drive on sata2.
In the bios the IDE bus master is enabled and sata is on IDE.

Please help me I don't know what to do.
