    what M\B to go for

    Hi all
looking to upgrade (been a year or so now ) currently have an an8 ultra with moded bios and 1Gb memory and a opteron 146 o\c.
Now i have always used abit and AMD since win95 changing every year or two so now looks the time with ddr2 dropping in price.
So what is the best board to go with at the moment intel or AMD or is there something coming round the corner in the near future?
    Thanks
    Robert

if you don't need/want SLI then the AB9 QuadGT is the best abit enthusiast mobo atm imo.
There is a new Intel chipset (P35) due at the start of June & abit will have a series of mobos with that.

the big difference is that it is very easy to overclock to 3.2GHz on air & 3.4-3.6GHz is quite acheivable with a bit of tweaking.
Combine that with the improved architecture & you will notice a difference if you are doing things like encoding.
Games are more likely to be GPU limited though so you may only get a 5-10% difference overall in those.
