AB9 SATA and ACHI

I have just built yet another base unit with AB9 board((wife not to happylol ) and everything seems fine.A mate? has said i have to turn ACHI on in the BIOS for the sata dvd drives i have. Can anyone tell me if this is so as first time with sata optical drives

I recommend you use the sata optical drive on the intel sata port. No need to run in ACHI mode, you may need to install the intel sata drivers by pressing F6 during XP install.

A few poeple have had performance issues using ACHI, Mines just in normal mode.
